When not using the camera to capture the elegance of the natural and social worlds, I use the pen, or rather whatever art tool I can get my hands on. While the camera shows us what is, the pen allows us to imagine what may be. Drawn art means many things to many people, to me it is most powerful in its capacity to explore the inner world and show the magic of emotion, abstraction, theory, and cognitive visualizations. It is a doorway into our minds, and a canvas to share our mind's eye with others.
Science would have us believe in the reliability of the natural world and logic above all, but what stirs in our hearts and drives our emotions is often not formed from the institute of positivism but from the power of creativity. Imagination promises to guide us to a place that positivism can only grasp with dead hands, it is a place that it may not venture,... to a future that has yet to be born, but may be imagined.
